1.2" Ammonite (Hoploscaphites) Fossil - Montana

This is a specimen of the ammonite Hoploscaphites crassus from the the Pierre Shale of Montana. It's been nicely prepared from the hard limestone concretion it was found in and displays nicely. On the back side one of the ammonite one of the chambers is exposed so you can look inside. The base has been prepared in such a way the ammonite displays nicely with the need of a stand.
