1.4" Fossil Wasp - Green River Formation, Wyoming

This is a large fossil wasp from the Eocene aged Green River Formation of Wyoming. It was collected from Warfield's Quarry near Kemmerer and insects are one of the scarcer components of the fauna at this quarry. At 1.4" long this is a large wasp fossil and still retains a lot of detail including antennae and legs.

There is one repaired crack in the rock.
