1.65" Kettneraspis Trilobite With Long Occipital -Translucent Shell

This is a large, 1.65" long, Kettneraspis? prescheri trilobite from Morocco. It has a large and very distinctive occipital spine. The preparation is spectacular with almost all of the rock removed from surrounding it. Total shell restoration is about 4%, primarily around the base of its eyes. When the trilobite is back lit the shell is translucent, causing it to glow (first photo).

These trilobites have typically been labeled as Leonaspis but based on more recent papers it appears to be Kettneraspis? prescheri. A recent description of this trilobite can be found at:
