1.9" Detailed Metacanthina Trilobite - Issoumour, Morocco
This is a detailed Metacanthina trilobite from Issoumour, Morocco. It is arched over but would be about 1.9" long if outstretched. It has a beautiful multi-toned coloration and very nice preparation. It has about 3% shell restoration along a repaired crack.
About Trilobites
Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago).
