10.7" Stunning Double-Sided Fossil Leaf Plate - Montana
This is an incredible find: a fantastically preserved, double-sided fossil leaf plate from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. One side contains a massive, three-lobed Macginitiea nobilis leaf and a Davidia antiqua leaf, while the other contains five leaves of the species Zizyphoides flabellum, Davidia antiqua, and Macginitiea nobilis. The orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection. A stunning addition to anyone's fossil collection!
