12.1" Fossil Brachiopod (Rafinesquina) and Bryozoan Plate - Indiana
This is a 12.1" wide plate of fossil brachiopods (mostly Rafinesquina), bryozoans, and trilobite fragments, collected from the Ordovician-aged Waynesville Formation (Blanchester Series) in Franklin County, Indiana. It comes from a new lease we started digging in the summer of 2023.

About Bryozoans
Bryozoans are microscopic aquatic invertebrates that live in colonies, forming skeletal structures similar to corals. Each skeletal structure has a form unique to each particular species. The individual byrozoans forming these colonies are filter feeders called zooids, straining nutrients from the surrounding water.
