2.1" Red Hollardops Trilobite - Zerig, Morocco

This is a 2.1" long, red Hollardops trilobite from Zireg, Morocco. The red coloration is due to high levels of iron in the silicified exoskeleton. Zireg seams to be a new location where they are finding this reddish trilobites. Previously they were all coming from Hmar Laghdad, but the Zireg ones seam to be closer to purple in color.

This trilobite has about 3-4% shell restoration mainly on its glabella.
