2.4" Fossil Leaf (Menispermites) - Green River Formation, Utah

This is an Eocene aged fossil leaf of Menispermites limacioides, an extinct species of plant from the Menispermaceae family. The leaf is 2.4" long and on a piece of shale. It is nicely preserved with crisp edges and brown coloration.

It comes from the Green River Formation in Uintah County, Utah. While this formation is best known for well-preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain very diverse flora and insect fauna.

Comes with an acrylic display stand.
