2.7" Theropod Toe Bone - Montana

This is a 2.7" long, fossil metatarsal (toe bone) of a theropod dinosaur, which would be more generally referred to as a raptor. It was collected from the Hell Creek Formation of Carter County, Montana. There are multiple species of raptors described from this formation and likely many more undescribed, so assigning isolated toe bones to a species or even genus is often guesswork.

The bone is overall in excellent condition and preserved beautifully! There is a repaired crack and a small section of bone missing towards the middle of the bone.
