2.9" Cretaceous Fossil Turtle (Toxochelys) Leg Bone - Kansas

This is a 2.9 x 1.7" late Cretaceous aged fossil leg bone of a marine turtle (Toxochelys sp.). It was found in the Smoky Hill Chalk of the Niobrara Formation in Kansas, a very fossiliferous marine formation. It is the proximal end of a partial femur that has good preservation, with the break approximately halfway down the shaft of the femur.
