2" Oligocene Fossil Clupeoid Fish (Beksinskiella) - Poland
This is a 2" wide clupeoid fish fossil of the species Beksinskiella longimania (Heckel, 1850) preserved on a slab of stone. It comes out of the nannofossil biozone NP24 of the Krosno Formation Unit near Sobniów, Poland. Beautiful bone preservation on this specimen. There is a repaired crack through the fossil/rock.
