3.2" Flying Paralejurus Trilobite With Crotalocephalina & Reedops
This is a really special trilobite association from the Lhandar Formation near Atchana, Morocco. It features three different genus of Lower Devonian trilobites in natural association. Central to the piece is a 3.2" long Paralejurus that has been prepared to remove almost all of the surrounding limestone. There is also a 2.8" long Reedops and a smaller 2" long Crotalocephalina.
The preparation is beyond fantastic with total restoration only being around 2%, primarily on the small Crotalocephalina.

About Trilobites
Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
