3.5" Miniature Fossil Cluster with Spiny Urchin (Polydiadema) - France

This is an exquisite cluster of small marine fossils which have been prepared using acid-etching techniques. The detail of these small marine fossils is amazing and it's a very displayable piece. At the center of the specimen is a stunning urchin (Polydiadema superbum) fossil with spines. These miniature fossils clusters were discovered a few years back in France, near the Austrian border. They are Jurassic in age (Oxfordian Stage), or approximately 159 million years old.

The entire cluster measures 3.5 x 2.5" and has been mounted to an acrylic display base with a high-quality hot glue to ensure the specimen makes it to you in one piece.

The spines on the urchin have been mounted to the body.
