.3" Very Rare Dinosaur (Camptosaurus) Tooth - Colorado
This is a very rare, Camptosaurus tooth collected from our partner's private quarry East of Dinosaur, Colorado. It's 0.3" long and is still embedded in the sandstone in which it was found. These teeth are so rare that I have never run across another one offered for sale online.

About Camptosaurus
Camptosaurus was a medium-sized herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic, approximately 155-145 million years ago. Fossils of this ornithopod are best known from the Morrison Formation of the western United States, where it shared its environment with dinosaurs such as Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Apatosaurus. Camptosaurus had a relatively robust body, powerful hind limbs, shorter forelimbs, and a beaked skull adapted for cropping vegetation. It was capable of moving on its hind legs but likely spent considerable time feeding on all fours. As an early member of the ornithopod lineage, Camptosaurus provides an important evolutionary link between more primitive ornithischians and the increasingly specialized iguanodontians that became prominent during the Cretaceous.
