This is the tooth of a small, Triassic-aged theropod of the species Coelophysis bauri. The specimen was collected from the Cooper Canyon Formation in Crosby County, Texas. It measures .36" long, has serrations along its distal edge, and is accompanied by an acrylic display case.
Coelophysis was a small, slenderly-built, ground-dwelling, bipedal, carnivorous theropod that could grow up to about 10 feet in length. It is one of the earliest known dinosaur genera.
