4.1" Fossil Leaf (Styrax & Caesalpinites) Plate - Utah
This is a 4.1" wide slab of shale containing two fossil leaves. The longest (2.4" long including stem) is a leaf of the species Styrax transversa; a species of subtropical shrub similar in appearance to laurel shrubs but not closely related. The smaller leaf is of the species Caesalpinites falcata. This specimen was collected from the Green River Formation in Utah.
Comes with an acrylic display stand.
While the Green River Formation is best known for its fish fossils from Wyoming, other areas produce incredible plant fossils.
