4.2" Carboniferous Fossil Fern (Lescuropteris) - France

This is a fossil fern (Lescuropteris genuina) from the Late Carboniferous-aged Montceau-les-Mines Lagerstatte of France. This formation is Stephanian Stage in age, or approximately 300 million years old. The fern measures 4.2" long and is nicely centered on a rectangular-cut, 4.2 x 3.1" slab of rock.
