12.9" Carboniferous Fossil Fern (Odontopteris) Plate - France

This is a gorgeous fossil fern (Odontopteris subcrenulata) from the Late Carboniferous-aged Montceau-les-Mines Lagerstatte of France. This formation is Stephanian Stage in age, or approximately 300 million years old. The fern fronds are nicely spread out across a 12.9 x 8.2" slab of rock.
