This is a stunning, 4.3" wide mortality plate featuring many detailed crane flies (family Tipulidae) with intact wings, collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant fossils and insect fauna.
