Fossil Leaf with Crane Fly - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a fossil mimosite (Mimosites coloradensis) leaf measuring .65" long, located alongside a partial detailed crane fly (family Tipulidae) fossil, collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. The plate itself measures 2.8 x 2.2".

While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant and insect fossils.

Comes with an acrylic stand.
