4.6" Plate Of Gastropods, Brachiopods, Etc - Waldron Shale, Indiana

This is a really cool plate representing the sea floor during the Silurian period. It is a 4.6 x 3.7" section of shale from the Waldron Shale of Indiana covered in fossil brachiopods (Stegerzhynchus neglecta), crinoid stems, trilobite pieces (Calymene breviceps), and a beautifully preserved gastropod (Strophostylus cyclostomus).

Given how hard the rock is, this piece took a substantial amount of time to prepare. It comes with an acrylic display stand.
