.4" Ordivician Trilobite (Declivolithus) Fossil (Pos/Neg) - Morocco

This is a well-preserved specimen of the Trinucleid trilobite, Declivolithus from Morocco. Specimens this nice are rare, as most are more compressed and missing much of the detail. This particular specimen has retained a good amount of detail especially in the cephalic rim. Both the positive and negative sides of the split are included in your purchase. There is a second, incomplete trilobite fossil on this specimen.

An acrylic display stand accompanies each half.

This trilobite has really dramatic cephalic pits along it's "head shield". It's unknown the exact purpose of these pits, they could have had sensory purposes or aided in filter feeding.
