5.1" Ordovician Brittle Star (Ophiura) With Carpoid & Crinoids

This is a large, 5.1" wide, fossil brittle star (Ophiura) from the Tiouririne Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.

There are a couple repaired cracks running through the rock and the fossil. There are multiple, small carpoids and crinoid fossils also present on the rock.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
