5 Inch Mioplosus From Wyoming

This is a nice example of one of the more uncommon fish from the Green River Formation, Mioplosus labracoides. It is 5 inches in length and centered nicely on a rectangularly cut piece of creme colored matrix. The specimen displays great preservation with highly detailed with the bone structure, vertebrae and fins.
