7.2" Impressive Cyphaspis Trilobite Cluster - Mrakib, Morocco

This is a spectacular cluster of trilobites from the Bou Dib Formation near Mrakib, Morocco. There are SEVEN complete Cyphaspis walteri and along with a small Gerastos trilobite and many partials. Most of the spines have been prepared free-standing. Total restoration on this impressive piece is about 2-3% along repaired cracks.

This species of Cyphaspis is sometimes referred to as the "Devil Horn" Cyphaspis for obvious reasons. This species was finally formally described in 2014. A link to the paper can be found below.
