7.6" Miocene Fossil Echinoid (Clypeaster) - Taza, Morocco

This is a giant, 7.6" wide, 3D fossil Echinoid of the genus Clypeaster collected near Taza, Morocco. There is a little bit of repair and restoration near the apex of the piece.

Animals of the Clypeaster genus are more commonly referred to as "sea biscuits or cake urchins. The genus first appeared in the Late Eocene and survives until today.
