8.1" Unprepared Cretaceous Turtle Rib - Asfla, Morocco

This is a 8.1" section of unidentified fossil turtle shell/ rib bone from Asfla, Morocco. This bone has similar characteristics to anterior rib bones and anterior carapace structural bones that support the shell in a ring shape as exhibited in modern sea turtles. Given that the bone is not fully exposed from the rock it was found in, a positive identification of species and anatomical location are rather difficult. The preservation is quite nice and makes an excellent display piece.
