Baby Phareodus - Green River Formation

This is an unusual find from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. It's a baby Phareodus which is only 1.7" long. This is one of the more uncommon fish in the formation, but they are typically found in sizes ranging from about 6-12 inches long. Phareodus was a predatory fish that had a mouthful of pointy teeth and would have preyed upon the more common Knightia and Diplomystus which inhabited Fossil Lake.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
