Beautiful, Serrated Bone Valley Meg - #3696

This is a beautiful Megalodon tooth from the Bone Valley region of Florida. Teeth from this area are highly desirable due to their beautiful coloration and great preservation. This tooth is no exception with great contrast between with white root and the glossy bluish-grey enamel. It has nice sharp serrations and just a bit of feeding damage to the tip. It's 2.05 inches in length.

No one knows for sure why the megalodon went extinct 2.6 million years ago, but the cooling of the climate and gradual disappearance of many of the large whales it relied on for food are suspects.
