Big 3 1/2 Inch Struveaspis Trilobite
Here's a new trilobite that has only appeared on the market from Morocco in small quantities in the past few years. It's a Struveaspis sp. from the Middle Devonian beds near Jorf Morocco. This specimen is the largest I've had and would be about 3 1/2 inches long it outstretched. It's very inflated.
One of the interesting characteristics of this trilobite is it's small eyes, flush with the head full of facets. The right eye of this trilobite is in great shape, showing this detail.
There is about 5% shell restoration to touchup some areas where the shell was "peeled" or there was minor collection/preparation damage. This is mostly on the tail and the top of the head.
