Detailed Fossil Fly In Baltic Amber - Eye Facets Visible!

This is an amazingly detailed, 44 million year old fossil fly (family Dolichopodidae) preserved in Baltic Amber. It is so detailed that you can even see the facets of the eyes under microscope. As a reminder, most inclusions in baltic amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. Included with your order is a physical photo of the specimen, and we will also email you a high resolution digital copy.

Please note, the market is flooded with fake amber, often plastic with insects embedded in them. In fact the majority of amber I see sold on the internet is not real. If you see something that looks too good to be true, often it is. Only buy amber from reputable dealers.
