Detailed Tetragramma Urchin Fossil - Morocco

This is a very well preserved specimen of the Late Cretaceous sea urchin, Tetragramma violare. This one is nicely inflated the with ornate/knobby surface where the spines would have attached well preserved. It has been prepared free of the surrounding matrix. It has much better preservation that many of the urchins offered from this area that are squished of missing much of their ornamentation.
