Eocene Fossil Cricket and Crane Flies - Green River Formation

This is a .6" long, beautifully detailed cricket (order Orthoptera) fossil preserved alongside a cluster of crane fly (order Diptera) fossils, collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. While this formation is best known for well-preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse insect fauna.
