Eocene Fossil Cricket and Fly - Green River Formation
This is a .3" long partial cricket (order Orthoptera) fossil preserved alongside a detailed fly (order Diptera) fossil, collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. While this formation is best known for well-preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse insect fauna.
