Extra Large Gerastos Trilobite - 1 1/4 Inches

Here's an inexpensive of the Proetida trilobite Gerastos tuberculatus from the Middle Devonian of Morocco. The Proetidae family of trilobites was the last group to go extinct at the end of the Permain period. This one is an extra large example of the species. It would be about 1 1/4 inches if outstretched where they seem to average about 3/4 of an inch. It has a nice, thick, dark brown shell.

This is a specimen which I purchased as part of a lot partially prepared and did some final cleanup/detail work on it myself. There is nice shell detail and no restoration.
