1.05" Cornuproetus Trilobite Fossil With Two Austerops
This is a beautifully preserved natural association of three trilobites representing two different genera from near Ofaten, Morocco. The specimen features a pair of Austerops, each measuring approximately 2" long, alongside a Cornuproetus.
All three trilobites exhibit excellent exoskeletal detail and impressive three-dimensional preservation. The meticulous preparation involved carefully removing the surrounding hard limestone and skillfully sculpting the matrix to create an attractive, natural-looking display that showcases each trilobite.
Total shell restoration is approximately 5% across the three specimens.

About Trilobites
Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
