Fossil Ant (Formicidae) & Unidentifed Insect In Baltic Amber
This is an amazingly detailed, 44 million year old fossil ant (Family Formicidae) preserved in Baltic Amber. The ant is about 1mm in length. There is also a small, unidentified insect that can be best viewed under microscope.
As a reminder, most inclusions in baltic amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. Included with your order is a physical photo of the specimen, and we will also email you a high resolution digital copy.
