Fossil Flies (Chironomidae) and Beetle (Coleoptera) in Baltic Amber
These are two nicely detailed 44 million year old fossil flies (order Diptera, family Chironomidae) and a beetle (order Coleoptera) preserved in Baltic amber. The length of the beetle is about 4.5mm.
As a reminder, most inclusions in Baltic amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. A physical photo of the specimen is included with your order and we will also email you a high resolution digital copy.
