Fossil Flies, Three Ants, a Crane Fly and a Wasp in Baltic Amber

These are nicely detailed, 44 million year old insects preserved in Baltic Amber. The amber includes two flies (order Diptera), three ants (family Formicidae), a crane fly (family Tipulidae) and a tiny wasp (order Hymenoptera). The largest ant is about 6mm long.

As a reminder, most inclusions in Baltic amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. A physical photo of the specimen is included with your order and we will also email you a high resolution digital copy.

Please note, the market is flooded with fake amber, often plastic with insects embedded in them. In fact the majority of amber I see sold on the internet is not real. If you see something that looks too good to be true, often it is. Only buy amber from reputable dealers.
