Fossil Fly (Diptera) and Crane Fly (Tipulidae) in Baltic Amber
These are nicely detailed 44 million year old insects preserved in Baltic Amber. The amber contains a flies (order Diptera) and a crane fly (family Tipulidae). From leg to leg, the widest measurement of the crane fly is about 16mm long.
As a reminder, most inclusions in Baltic amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. A physical photo of the specimen is included with your order and we will also email you a high resolution digital copy.
