Fossil Fly Swarm (Chironomidae) In Baltic Amber
This is a swarm of 44 million year fossil flies (order Diptera, family Chironomidae), preserved in baltic amber. There are at least 15 fossil flies in this amber, likely more. They average around 2mm long.
