Fossil Sycamore Leaf and Laurel Leaf - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a 1.5" wide fossil sycamore (Macginitiea wyomingensis) leaf preserved alongside a leaf of Ocotea coloradensis, an extinct species of plant classified within the family Lauraceae, which includes the laurel and is known for evergreen, often aromatic trees. It was collected from the Green River Formation in Uintah County, Utah. While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse flora and insect fauna.

Comes with an acrylic display stand.
