Gerastos Trilobite From Foum Ziguid, Morocco

Here's a nice example of the small Proetida trilobite Gerastos tuberculatus. The Proetidae family of trilobites was the last group to go extinct at the end of the Permain period. This specimen has nice black shell and is presented on a "pedestal" of sculpted, natural matrix. There is a repaired crack running through the tail and up the right side of the trilobite where the rock was originally broken during collection.
