Large 2 Inch Metacanthina (Asteropyge) Trilobite

This is a Metacanthina issoumourensis trilobite from Alnif, Morocco which as 2 inches is fairly large for the species. It has a dark black shell, entirely covered in small pustules. Even the eye facets are nicely preserved in this example. It's slightly arched over and presented nicely on it's natural matrix. This species is often incorrectly referred to as an "Asteropyge" or “Kayserops”.

There is no restoration on this specimen.
