Permian Fossil Reptile Bones in Situ - Oklahoma
Here we have a 4.6" wide section of rock containing articulated vertebrae and countless other complete and partial bones of Lower Permian aged reptiles, collected from the Arckbuckle Group near Lawton, Oklahoma. Additional prep work could expose many more of these bones, along with the partial jaw along the underside of the rock. This permian reptile material is found within cave fissure fill deposits, and this specimen likely comes from Richard's Spur Quarry.
