Serrated Theropod Tooth - Morocco #291882

This is a gorgeous .82" long serrated theropod dinosaur tooth, collected from the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco. The serration count per 5mm along the distal edge is 15. The general size and shape of the tooth indicates that it's not from Carcharodontosaurus and there are too few serrations per 5mm to be considered Deltadromeus. Due to lack of complete skull material out of the Kem Kem Beds, we have left the species as theropod indeterminate.

Comes in an acrylic display case.

The Kem Kem Group is famous for yielding a diverse Late Cretaceous vertebrate assemblage, including fish, reptiles, and dinosaurs such as Spinosaurus. These fossils are found in a thin bed that outcrops around the edge of a large plateau near Taouz, Morocco. Local miners collect these fossils by digging narrow tunnels by hand into this plateau, following the layer.
