PEACOCK ORE FOR SALE

Peacock ore is a vibrant, eye-catching mineral known for its dazzling display of iridescent colors—flashes of blue, purple, pink, and gold that resemble the feathers of a peacock. Despite its exotic appearance, most “peacock ore” sold today is not a naturally colorful mineral, but rather chalcopyrite that has been treated with acid to enhance its surface colors.

Chalcopyrite is a common copper iron sulfide mineral with a natural brassy-yellow tone and metallic luster. It is one of the most important ores of copper and is found in mineral deposits around the world. When exposed to air and moisture over time, chalcopyrite can tarnish, forming a dull, greenish surface. In nature, under certain conditions, this tarnish can develop slight iridescence—but rarely to the intense degree seen in commercial peacock ore.
