1.8" Native Silver Ribbons on Light Pink Dolomite Matrix - Morocco

This is a really cool, 1.8" wide specimen featuring an aggregation of delicate native silver ribbons on a pink dolomite crystal matrix. It was mined from the Bouismas Mine in the Zagora Province of Morocco. The dolomite crystal's light pink color could likely be attributed to cobalt or manganese impurities.

It has been mounted to an acrylic display base with high-grade hot glue to ensure the ribbons arrive intact. The base/glue can be removed by pulling the specimen off carefully.

Native silver (Ag) is an uncombined form of silver that occurs as a natural mineral. Silver is one of the few precious metallic elements to occur in native form, although it most commonly occurs naturally mixed with other elements like gold, mercury, arsenic, and antimony.
