About Tiffany Stone

Tiffany Stone, also known as "opalized fluorite," "ice cream stone," or "bertrandite," is a rare and visually striking gemstone renowned for its swirling patterns of purple, lavender, cream, and occasional hints of blue, pink, or yellow. This captivating stone is composed primarily of fluorite, with varying amounts of opal, chalcedony, bertrandite, quartz, and other minerals. Its unique coloration and patterns result from the complex interplay of these minerals.

Tiffany Stone is found almost exclusively in the Spor Mountain area of western Utah, USA, particularly at the Brush Wellman Mine. This location is a significant source of beryllium ore, and Tiffany Stone often occurs in association with these deposits. Due to its limited geographic origin and the fact that much of the material is crushed for beryllium extraction, high-quality specimens are increasingly rare and sought after by collectors and lapidaries.
