11.7" Sparkly Deep-Purple Amethyst Geode - Uruguay
This is a gorgeous amethyst geode collected from the famed amethyst mines near Artigas, Uruguay. It has a deep crystal pocket with high-quality, grape jelly colored crystals. The "rind" around the crystal pocket has been polished to a glossy finish, showing off the interesting underlying agate formations.
The bottom of this geode has been cut flat to allow for an aesthetic presentation without a stand.

Though Brazil produces a greater volume of amethyst, the material from the Artigas region of Uruguay is renowned for its exceptional depth of color and superb crystal quality.
